Devenir/ Becoming

This metal sculpture, created live in 48 hours by Elanor Jazz during the “Diversité comme richesse” conference for the RIFNE at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel in Nova Scotia. The piece portrays a woman with avian form expanding beyond a confined box brought to life during the funtastic facilitation of the one and only Joyce Alexandre, making the conference both interactive and informative.

The public art piece reflects the experience of francophone immigrants who, despite constraints, persist, evolve, and ultimately take flight. The box symbolizes the solid foundation and support offered by organizations dedicated to francophone immigration. It stands as a moment of hope & perseverance at the RIFNÉ office headquarters in Halifax, NS.

Paralleling with her “idée fixe” of birds and their own delicate ways of shaping the world. It stands at the RIFNÉ office today as a symbol of hope & abundance. 🕊️
