Elanor Jazz
Elanor Jazz was among the artists invited to collaborate with Burning Man Nova Scotia for their large-scale installation presented at Nocturne: Art at Night Festival on the Halifax Waterfront. Her sculptural work, Sacrificial, was featured as one of the symbolic “eggs” within The Magpie’s Nest—a collaborative structure composed of individual artworks by artists of different backgrounds.
The installation’s concept reflects the communal and transformative ethos of Burning Man. The Magpie’s Nest employed a striking LED lighting design of shifting gradient colors, creating a dynamic visual experience that celebrated the joy, playfulness, and collective energy that define the Burning Man spirit.
Elanor’s contribution, Sacrificial, explores themes of offering, renewal, and creative resilience—an elegant balance of fragility and strength expressed through metal. Integrated within the nest, her work became part of a luminous ecosystem that came alive at night, engaging viewers in a dialogue about creation and coexistence.
Through this collaboration, Jazz continues to expand her practice into the realm of public art and experiential sculpture, producing works that resonate equally with emotion, craftsmanship, and conceptual depth.
